Newquay
Newquay is possibly the most famous holiday destination in the UK and it is easy to see why. With golden beaches, great surf, stunning golf courses, delicious restaurants, lively bars, quiet pubs and much more, Newquay offers much to visitors of any age, race or gender.
There are hundreds of great restaurants in the town that offer a range of cuisine. Italian, Indian, Mediterranean and of course Cornish are all on the menu in Newquay. You can dine in the lively town at any number of great eateries or perhaps head out to the coast where fine dining at Fistral waits or the renowned Lewinnick Lodge perched on the end of the Pentire Headland. With stunning views and a great menu, the Hotel California recommends a tasty trip out to Lewinnick which is less than a 10 minute walk or two minute drive away.
If clubbing is your thing then Newquay is your town! The legendary Berties and Sailors will be packed again this summer with beautiful boys and gorgeous girls. With great tunes, cold beers and crazy cocktails, Berties and Sailors are without doubt the destination, big name clubs in Newquay. But if you fancy somewhere different for a night out, why not check out Beaches just above Towan Beach? Or, one of our personal favourites is the very popular Walkabout. Cheap food and drinks make this venue a must for lunch or an evening.
Newquay has some great events this year that will surely bring you and your friends and family to Cornwall. The best surfers in the world descend on Newquay in August when Fistral pays host to the Rip Curl Pro. There is not only just great surfing action in the water, but awesome skating on the vert ramp on the beach, beers and BBQ’s on the beach and stunning girls in bikini contests make this event one of the best surf contests in Europe.
Wining and Dining at Hotel California, Newquay
With a daily changing 3 course Table d’Hote menu, the restaurant offers something to suit all tastes, with dishes ranging from traditional English roasts to those that have influences from around the world. For those wishing to enjoy the hotel speciality, try our local Cornish fish and seafood, brought to us fresh each day, direct from the sea!
The restaurant is open to non-residents, with dinner being served 7 nights a week between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m., and bookings can be made by telephoning the hotel reception on 01637 872798. We cater for vegetarians and any other special dietary requirements, so please do advise us of these when booking.
Whether you are enjoying breakfast or dinner, the setting of the restaurant offers fantastic views of the estuary and the countryside from most tables. Our restaurant is also available to hire for weddings and private functions.
